The Value of a Wife and Mother

I can’t count how often I come across Wives and/or Mothers who have said in one form or another, “I’m not doing anything worth wild.”, “I’m only a Wife/Mother” or some have even gone so far as to say “I am not worth it.” It truly saddens me when I hear someone devalue themselves like that, voluntarily. How you think and feel about yourself you project out into the world and the world will reflect that back to you. Every aspect of your world, family, friend, co-worker, acquaintances, strangers and even your environment.

Now I know there come times when things appear hard to deal with, no one is supporting you and it feels like your in over your head. That’s not the time to beat your self up, put yourself down, not even in a joking manner. It’s not the time to give up and ride the uncontrollable rollercoaster into “pity me hell”. I understand we live in a very negative world and you don’t have a personal cheerleader at your beckoning call. But if you don’t believe in yourself then who will? If you keep saying, “you can’t”, then who is saying “you can’? What you think of yourself, you are. You are far more stronger than you give yourself credit for. You are far more valuable then any inanimate object. You can take on any battle in life and win, simply by choosing to.

For the mere fact that you are alive you are a viable human being. Your value alone is immeasurable. The power in your little finger can move mountains, literally. You are brilliant in all that you do and are capable of doing anything you put your mind to. You are great, you’re impressive and it doesn’t matter what is happening now or what has happen in the past. It doesn’t matter how old or young you are. It doesn’t even matter how old or young you feel. You are fabulous.

Time and time again I come across women of all ages who do not put any stock into what I have just said. Unfortunately they have bought heavily into the belittling words of “I’m not worth it.” I want you to seriously listen to what I’m about to tell you. You are worth it and so much more. You are magnificent in all that you do, no matter what! You are a Power House of knowledge and wisdom. The moment you choose to change the way you are thinking about yourself for the positive, your life will transform into what you really want. It will transform into the happiness you deserve.

Still don’t believe me? Okay, then lets look at it monetarily. That is something tangible and everyone understands the value of money. Let’s see if you, your significant other and/or your children could hire you for just one hour. We’ll start with it being just the two of you, you and your significant other. They are the “bread winner” and you don’t work outside the home. You alone take care of the household. I want you to think about how much a person would be paid for each of the job titles that are mentioned. You would be a Purchasing Agent for practically everything that comes in through the front door and a Eco/Recycling Agent for just about everything that goes out the back door. You’re a Chef, a Dishwasher and/or Dish Loader. You’re a Housekeeper, a Laundry Specialist, and let’s face it, there are some stains that put every bit of your laundry knowledge to the test. You’re a Interior Decorator and if you happen to have a yard, a Landscaper. You keep the records of home expenses you’re an Accountant. Solve any problems with your home computer. You’re a Computer Technician. Now let’s add into the mix, children (I’m talking about those under the legal age, not those that act like them), you are a Nursemaid, a Playmate, Chauffeur, Tutor, Family Entertainment Organizer and Censor to all those delicate ears and eyes of immature youth, Social Organizer and Social Secretary, Body Guard, Personal Clothing Purchaser and then a Clothing Mediator and Clothing Monitor for all those who have definite ideas on fashion how ever “interesting” they may be, a Nutritionist, a Therapist, a Personal Shopper for all the new gadgets and gizmos that happen to flash in front of the eyes of whomever you are responsible for. You are a Personal Organizer to every individual living within the household. If there are pets. How many times has it been said, “Mommy, I promise to take care of it all by myself.” and you end up being a Groomer, Veterinarian Tech and/or Veterinarian, a Pet Chauffeur, and a Pet Shopper, don’t they need stuff too? A Pet Walker if needed and any other jobs linked with the pet of choice. Let’s not forget, if you have ever moved, even if it is across the street, a Moving Agent and Moving Organizer. Oh, and if you fly to your next destination. You are a Travel Agent. So what, you call the Travel Agent, you have to choose the Travel Agent don’t you? In that case you are a Travel Agent Interviewer. You have to find a new home? You’re a Real Estate Agent. Do you keep up with the weather? How about keeping track of Typhoons or Hurricanes? You are a Meteorologist. What if you have to evacuate because of one of those? Can you see how your “hats” change at a moments notice? Do you have a hobby that benefits the family? I know it’s a dying art but do you sew? Add all of those titles into the mix. I’ve just scratched the surface. I’m sure you can come up with many other titles you hold in your household.

How much do you think you are worth now, monetarily? Now if you work outside the home, add all of the titles you hold in your employment on top of all you do at home. Don’t ever say again that you are not worth anything or you don’t feel like your doing enough. You are shaping and molding the next generations that will take charge of this earth. They will affect all they touch. You are the soft place for your significant other to rest when they are beat down from the world outside. Your touch help shape their thoughts and comforts their soul. Let’s face it your significant other and/or children could not afford you financially even if they wanted to. Now let’s add that special part of you that comes from your heart. That untouchable part of you, you lovingly give willingly every moment you live. That part of you is priceless. It’s out of that love, is the reason you took on all those Titles. No one is capable of putting any monetary amount to that, not even you.

You are great, I believe that. Everything you touch is magnificent and when you think positively about yourself that magnificence grows. The way you think about you, only you can control. It is solely your choice and no one can make you think what you don’t want to think. You have complete control over what you think about yourself and anything else for that matter. Between the snap of your fingers, you can change how you think about you, how you feel about you and what you desire for you.

You are worth far more then what is imaginable. It doesn’t matter if no one else sees it. What matters is that you see it in you, you feel it within you, you know it of you and you act on it for you and all whom you love. You have the power to make the life you live into anything you want it to be just by changing your thoughts and feelings. You have total control over your thoughts and feeling and no one can make you think or feel anything you don’t want to think or feel. When you understand and act on this, it is sent out from you and then it will reflect back to you from your significant other, your children, anyone and anything else involved in your life. You deserve to be happy, you are worthy of being happy. You deserve all you desire, you are worthy in everything you desire. You were born to add value to this world. For the mere fact that you exist you bring joy to others whether you know it or not. No matter what’s going on at the moment.

You are an individual like no other. No one can dream your dreams, no one can sing your song and no one else can write your story into The Book of Life. Who you truly are and what you do has great impact on anything and everyone around you. You are unique among all mankind and no one is capable of loving the way you do. Who you are and what you do affects everyone around you whether you see them or not. You are a Blessing to those around you no matter what Titles you may hold, just as those around you are a Blessing to you. Think positively about yourself, believe positively about yourself and that positive nature will reflect back to you from everyone you come into contact with. When you think positive about you, then no matter what is going on around you, you will know you will survive it.

What is the true Value of a Wife and/or Mother? It’s up to you.
